Corporate Communications Specialist, Shriram Group, Chennai

Position Overview:

The Corporate Communications Specialist will play a pivotal role in managing and enhancing Shriram Group’s external communications strategy in Chennai for the insurance businesses (life and general) of the Group. This position is responsible for creating and maintaining a positive brand image, fostering relationships with stakeholders, and ensuring effective communication across various channels.

Key Responsibilities:

External Communications:

Develop and execute external communication plans aligned with Shriram’s insurance businesses.
Craft compelling narratives, press releases, and other communication materials.
Manage media relations, including handling inquiries, interviews, and crisis communication.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Cultivate relationships with industry influencers, journalists, and relevant stakeholders.

Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to inform communication strategies.

Brand Reputation:

Safeguard and enhance Shriram’s brand reputation through effective communication.
Develop and implement strategies to address any negative publicity or crisis situations.
Ensure alignment of messaging with Shriram’s core values and business objectives.

Content Creation:

Create engaging content for press releases, articles, social media, and corporate announcements.
Collaborate with internal teams to gather information and insights for content development.
Maintain consistency in tone, style, and messaging across all communication channels.

Measurement and Reporting:

Monitor the impact of communication efforts using relevant metrics.
Prepare regular reports on media coverage, sentiment analysis, and communication effectiveness.
Use insights to refine communication strategies and tactics.


Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate communications, preferably within the insurance industry.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in managing media relations and crisis communication.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
