Position: Content Head Department: Strategic Communication Location: JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) Corporate Office
Experience Required:
Overall 8–10 years of experience in content writing and management, with 3–5 years of experience leading and mentoring a team of content writers and editors.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Lifecycle Management:
Lead the entire content lifecycle from requirement mapping, development, and QC to final delivery.
Predict content development cycles and plan resources accordingly.
Ensure consistent alignment of all content with institutional guidelines and objectives.
Content Strategy and Calendar Management:
Build and implement a comprehensive content strategy that supports the institution’s goals.
Develop, maintain, and manage detailed content calendars aligned with academic timelines, marketing campaigns, and organizational priorities.
Anticipate content needs and plan proactively to meet deadlines.
Team Leadership and Mentorship:
Lead, manage, and mentor a team of writers, editors, and curators to produce high-quality, impactful content.
Foster a process-oriented culture within the team, ensuring alignment with deadlines and quality standards.
Process Orientation and Quality Control:
Define TATs (Turnaround Times) for all content deliverables and enforce them diligently.
Develop and maintain content guidelines, ensuring adherence across all outputs.
Conduct regular quality checks to ensure consistency, accuracy, and alignment with institutional voice and tone.
Internal and External Communications:
Oversee the creation and approval of internal communication materials.
Manage the development of long-form content such as whitepapers, authored articles, press releases, and more.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with design, marketing, and leadership teams to ensure seamless execution of branding and communication collaterals.
Provide content support for academic and administrative departments as needed.
Content Performance Monitoring:
Track the performance of published content and recommend adjustments to improve engagement and impact.
Use insights to refine content strategies and deliverables.
Skills Preferred:
A strong command of the English language (UK English), with proficiency in writing, editing, and proofreading.
Familiarity with style guides (e.g., Chicago Manual, AP, or MLA) to maintain consistency.
Proven ability to create and manage content calendars effectively.
A keen eye for detail, ensuring precision in content creation and QC.
Basic understanding of design workflows to facilitate seamless collaboration with creative teams.
Strong process orientation and the ability to implement systems for efficient content delivery.
Qualification:
A graduate degree in Journalism and Mass Communication, English Literature, or a related discipline. Advanced certifications in content management or process management are a plus.
