Position: PR Manager

Experience Required:
- 8–10 years of experience in public relations, media relations, and stakeholder management.
- 4–5 years of experience leading or mentoring a team.
Key Responsibilities
Stakeholder Management
- Build and nurture strong relationships with journalists, editors, influencers, and key stakeholders in the education, media, and corporate sectors.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive repository of media contacts, PR agencies, and influencers to leverage for institutional campaigns.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including leadership, marketing, and creative teams, to align PR strategies with organizational objectives.
- Act as the primary spokesperson for the institution, ensuring consistent and effective communication with external and internal audiences.
Strategic PR Planning and Execution
- Develop and implement comprehensive PR strategies aligned with the institution’s goals, values, and vision.
- Design and execute targeted PR campaigns to promote initiatives, events, and achievements.
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities for strategic partnerships, sponsorships, and collaborations to enhance brand visibility.
Media Relations
- Foster positive relationships with regional, national, and industry-specific media outlets to secure coverage and promote a favourable brand image.
- Write, edit, and distribute press releases, media pitches, articles, and other communication materials to ensure impactful messaging.
- Organize and manage press conferences, exclusive briefings, and other media events.
Crisis Communication and Brand Reputation
- Develop and implement crisis communication plans to mitigate risks and manage reputational challenges.
- Proactively address potential issues and ensure timely, clear, and strategic responses to negative media inquiries.
Monitoring and Reporting
- Track and analyse media coverage, measuring the effectiveness of PR campaigns and providing actionable insights.
- Regularly prepare reports on PR initiatives, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
Digital and Social Media Alignment
- Integrate PR strategies with the institution’s digital presence, ensuring cohesive messaging across traditional and online platforms.
- Oversee the development of social media content that supports PR objectives and enhances engagement.
Skills and Competencies
- Exceptional Communication: Advanced writing, editing, and verbal skills to craft compelling messaging and engage diverse audiences.
- Media Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of the media landscape, including education-focused outlets and influencers.
- Relationship Building: Proven ability to establish and maintain strong connections with journalists, media houses, and internal teams.
- Crisis Management: Experience in handling sensitive situations with composure, tact, and strategic foresight.
- Strategic Mindset: Ability to design and execute long-term PR plans that align with institutional goals.
- Analytical Acumen: Skill in monitoring media trends, analysing coverage, and using data to refine PR strategies.
- Digital Proficiency: Knowledge of social media platforms and digital communication trends.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in PR, with demonstrated success in managing media relations and executing impactful campaigns.
- Prior experience in the education sector or similar industries is preferred.
