A Day in the Life
You will contribute to Medtronic’s growth and success by executing effective external and internal communications strategies to enhance the brand positioning and reputation through effective and impactful engagement activities and external communications initiatives for Medtronic’s R&D center in Hyderabad – Medtronic Engineering and Innovation Center.
You will contribute to implementing proactive and reactive internal communications and leadership messaging, content development for social media amplification, media relations and stakeholder management. The candidate will also liaise with the partner agencies to deliver timely and quality outputs as per the strategic plans
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Lead the communications function for the Medtronic Engineering and Innovation Center (MEIC) in Hyderabad, ensuring alignment with the overall business strategy and objectives.
Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy that supports the business goals and enhances the company’s image and reputation.
Serve as a strategic communications business partner for the MEIC Leadership team, providing expert consultation on all communications requirements and initiatives.
Identify communication opportunities and determine the most effective design, medium, and channels for execution to maximize impact.
Plan, write, edit, coordinate, and publish a variety of complex and/or sensitive communications materials to support the achievement of the center’s goals, often collaborating with other communicators.
Consult with key project managers and team in charge to develop communication goals, objectives, and plans that effectively convey management’s position or message
Develop and execute a comprehensive website strategy, including design, content creation, and ongoing updates to ensure a dynamic and engaging online presence.
Curate and create compelling content from internal and external sources to support various initiatives.
Develop, present, and execute a content strategy for social media programs, partnering with the Digital Communications / Brand Centers of Excellence (COEs) to enhance the company’s digital footprint.
Develop and implement crisis communication plans to effectively manage and mitigate potential risks
Drive higher employee engagement through strategic communications touchpoints, fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
Partner with the Site Leader for messaging and communications, developing talk tracks and collaborating to enhance leader profiling and team engagement.
Develop KPI/measurement matrix to gauge effectiveness of communications programs
Manage large format cross functional projects to enhance the brand positioning internally and externally
Establish regular monitoring mechanisms for all communications programs to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with business objectives.
Collaborate with Asia and Global communications teams to leverage various external and digital opportunities, ensuring a cohesive and integrated approach.
Effectively manage vendors supporting the design and production of various communications materials, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
Design and execute internal and external events materials for Medtronic, adhering to branding guidelines and ensuring consistency in messaging.
Manage, evaluate, and ensure the integrity of communications between the company and its various stakeholders, maintaining transparency and trust.
Ensure adherence to corporate guidelines on general local corporate and individual initiatives, promoting compliance and consistency across all communications efforts.
The position is based in Hyderabad
Required Knowledge & Experience:
Graduation/ Post Graduation in Mass Communication.
A minimum of 15+ years of experience in internal communications, public relations, media and communications
Exceptional verbal, writing, editing, and organizational skills
Strong attention to detail
Executive presence and the ability to interact with leaders across the function and manage information with high levels of discretion
Proven ability to manage multiple projects independently and in collaboration with leaders and cross-functional partners, including ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously
Candidates from IT/ITES/GIC/ Hospitals/ Medical Devices Industry would be preferred
Good media relations
Post graduation in Mass Communication will be added advantage
Computer literacy including sound knowledge of the MS Office suite of software
