The primary focus of this role is implementing various communications plans and activities for the Institute. The candidate will interact with various internal and external stakeholders to understand their requirements and share them with the Communications Office. He/she will regularly engage with faculty, internal departments, and students.

QualificationPost Graduate degree in journalism and / mass communication/ marketing or equivalent degree.
ExperienceProven work experience in a PR Agency, Communications dept. of an organizationAround 7- 9 years of work experiencePresent credentials and portfolio related to media, social media, website content campaigns and network of media persons
CompetencyTech savvyKnowledge of the latest PR practices, knowledge of social media tools etc.Understanding of the media and how it worksUnderstanding of performance/ content marketingExperience in handling PR activities.Strong media relations – local and across national media.Expert on all social media formats; abreast of the latest trends in digital mediumsPossess a keen sense of what type of content is optimal for which social media network.Creative and constantly coming up with new ideas.Excellent writing and speaking skills and a command over English language is a must.

The selected candidate’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

1. Communication

  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather and share updates on events, awards, and program highlights.
  • Assist in implementing communication campaigns and maintaining accurate reporting.
  • Draft and edit materials (brochures, presentations) for consistent branding and messaging.

2. Media Relations

  • Draft press releases and coordinate interviews and media interactions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key media contacts, especially in the education sector.
  • Coordinate with the PR agency for media coverage and manage media reports.

3. Social Media

  • Draft posts and support social media campaigns for brand visibility.
  • Collect and adapt content for social media, ensuring engagement and consistency.
  • Monitor social media engagement and develop regular reports.
