Nissan in India is in the midst of an exciting turnaround, at a time when the automotive industry in the country is undergoing a massive technological and business revolution. We’re looking for a seasoned communications leader to spearhead holistic communications across the company’s India operations, which include manufacturing, sales & marketing, research & development, and financial and digital services. This position will be responsible for all facets of corporate, product and internal communications, managing a team at multiple sites across the country.
Objectives
Lead the creation and execution of a holistically integrated purpose-driven communications plan to drive the market’s exciting business ambitions forward
Establish benchmark-level media & influencer relationships with top outlets working across traditional and social media
Enhance the foundations of communications within the organisation as a strategic role to help lead regional operations
Protect and enhance the company’s reputation and build the Nissan brand position, both internally and externally
Drive creativity and enthusiasm into proactive, campaign-based storytelling, designed to engage new audiences in our products
Create and implement a rigorous and integrated communications governance
Responsibilities
Responsible for communications across Nissan’s India footprint, which includes an important Alliance (Renault-Nissan) Manufacturing site and Sales & Marketing and Financial Services in Gurugram
Long-range communications planning, strategy, narrative development and execution in support of business objectives and our product lineup
Coordination on key topics across the Alliance (Renault-Nissan) and with the AMIEO and Global communications function
Driving positive media and social media results through strong relationships, proactive campaign-minded storytelling, and keen ability to capitalize on news cycle
Executive communications for market and for regional and global c-suite when present in the market
Issues and Crisis management
Employee communications for both direct and indirect staff at all sites
Leadership of internal and agency teams across the country, while using influence to work cross-functionally and cross-regionally
Representing the market / function on relevant management and leadership committees
Manage Corporate Social Responsibility communications
Objectives planning and measurement
Background & Experience
Required competences:
Minimum 12 years in communications or journalism, with a well-balanced variety of experiences working for national or multinational companies
Proven track record in developing and maintaining deep media relationships, with a passion for news, social media, consumer media and employee communications trends
Ability to understand and communicate about a broad range of automotive, technology, brand and business topics
Big picture thinker who champions a modernized approach to communications and has a strong future vision
Highly motivated problem-solver with exemplary leadership skills and sound strategic judgment
Experience in building and leading strong results-oriented teams
Highly organized and governance-minded, able to multitask while working with multiple stakeholders, and possessing strong project-management aptitude
A collaborative team builder, who can build trusted relationships within and across functions on both leadership and team levels, who can understand and foster a multicultural, inclusive workspace
