Overview

The Director – Corporate Communication will lead the definition and execution of the communications strategy for Herbalife across India. They will have prior experience in media engagement, internal communications, reputation management and executive communications in a national matrix setting. They will have a proven track record of defining and executing impactful communications strategies and campaigns that measurably shift opinion. They will understand the challenges of operating within a highly regulated business and will demonstrate the ability to initiate and nurture relationships with external stakeholders, including the media, NGOs, think tanks, academia and the scientific community – both direct and through agencies. They will deliver a measurable increase in brand awareness and trust across the market by leveraging new and creative opportunities to tell the Herbalife story. They will provide communications counsel and leadership to the business.

Skills/Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.

  • Experience in a senior corporate communications/PR role.

  • Track record of working in Pan-India roles.

  • Proven and demonstrable track record of defining and executing creative, impactful media/PR campaigns and events.

  • Proven ability to work well under pressure.

  • Ability to work autonomously and independently, but a strong team player.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

  • Ability to deal effectively and confidently with all levels within a matrix organization.

  • Track record of managing PR agencies

  • Experience of crisis communication and issues management

  • Press office/media experience, including an ability to deal effectively with journalists across both consumer and corporate media.

  • Experience of C-level executive communications support.

  • Knowledge of working in a regulated environment an advantage.

Roles & Responsibility

Corporate Communications:

  • Define and execute a national communications strategy designed to support growth objectives and build trust in the brand through creative and impactful initiatives and campaigns across all platforms and channels.

  • Act as key media contact, actively engaging, cultivating, and managing media relationships to secure coverage that showcases our brand, products, and business opportunity.

  • Be responsible for creating media release on important announcements as well as quarterly financial results and taking responsibility for conceptualizing and creating annual reports.

  • Proactively identify opportunities for engagement and influence by being current with developments that relate to all key stakeholders and partners.

  • Identify critical issues and manage prompt communications response in collaboration with key business leads to mitigate negative impact to Herbalife’s reputation.

  • Create accurate and impactful written and video content for all channels and manage central content repository.

  • Ensure the integration of communications activities with other functions, such as public affairs and marketing.

  • Lead on the development, implementation, and monitoring of the brand guidelines.

  • Act as strategic counsel and provide communications support for key management; develop and support a calendar for external speaking engagements.

  • Work with senior leaders to develop internal communications programs and processes required to support organizational change and employee engagement initiatives.
